On Monday, September 19th, The ELIJA Foundation will be hosting its 15th Annual Sy Schwartz Golf Outing at Pine Hollow Country Club in East Norwich, Long Island. All support of this event goes directly to support ELIJA's efforts on behalf of children, young adults, adults and their families living with Autism!

Today 1 in 44 children are diagnosed with Autism - a developmental disability that affects the normal function of the brain - making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. While there is no way to prevent or cure Autism, research indicates that an appropriate educational setting can result in significant improvements for many diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. With the increase in Autism diagnoses, which has put an inevitable strain on many of our local school districts, ELIJA offers our learners another option - a personalized and quality education, focused on developing communication, social and cognitive skills.

The ELIJA Foundation is a not-for-profit, 501c (3) organization serving parents, educators, professionals, and caregivers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) on Long Island, New York. Since 2002, The ELIJA Foundation has provided the community with educational opportunities that focus on improving the quality of programs and services available to children with Autism. In 2006, The ELIJA School opened its doors to extend the mission of the Foundation and start helping children with Autism. In 2016 we expanded programming to support our young learners as they transition into adulthood.

The Foundation’s focus is to empower individuals and families living with autism throughout their lives. We believe in hope and hard work; that all children (or adults) with Autism deserve a chance, and their families our commitment, expertise and support. We work to make a difference: Championing Hope, One Child at a Time.
